Postle Industries, founded in 1969, has had a long association with welding products designed for hardfacing, and maintenance and repair.  Products include Postalloy Welding Wires and Electrodes for hard surfacing and repair, and MetalTec Ceramic Abrasion Resistant Compounds.  They are used on a wide variety of essential parts and equipment in all industries. Among them are:

In 1980, Postle introduced some of the first .045" (1.2 mm) hard surfacing wires and helped pioneer their development and growth. At that time, the generally accepted method of hard surfacing was either with flux-coated electrodes or large diameter, 7/64" (2.8 mm) wire. Today, small diameter hard surfacing wires have gained widespread and worldwide acceptance.

In 1987, recognizing the need for wear resistant solutions that went beyond welding and that could compensate for the limitations of welding, Postle introduced it's MetalTec range of special repair and abrasion resistant compounds. They are unique blends of advanced polymers combined with ceramic and stainless steel fillers.

Today’s modern equipment has been engineered to produce more and work more efficiently than ever before.  The goal of Postle's products is to salvage worn and failed parts, to make them last longer than originally intended.

Product Development Mission

Customer satisfaction is crucial to our continued success.

1.     Whether applying a hardfacing alloy, one of our MetalTec coatings, or using one of our repair welding products we must, through research and development, offer products that offer performance beyond our customer’s expectations.

2.      Where possible our products should be economical to use.

3.      Our products must be user friendly.  Easy mixing ratios of our repair compounds, easy out-of-position weldability, less smoke volume and welder appeal are just some of the characteristics that make our products desirable.

Postalloy Welding Products

Under the trade name Postalloy, Postle manufactures a complete range of welding consumables for hard surfacing, repair and specialized or difficult fabrications.   Products include:

·         Metal and Flux-Cored Wire
·         Flux-Coated Welding Electrodes
·         Tubular Welding Electrodes

Hardfacing Products - Hard surfacing is a process by which a wear resistant welding alloy is applied to a surface in order to protect it from abrasion, impact, erosion, cavitation, and metal-to-metal wear.  In most cases, the part is already experiencing wear and our products can be used to rebuild the worn area back to original dimensions.  At other times, our hard surfacing products are used for applying a wear resistant surface before the part is put into service.  Examples include crushing and grinding equipment, railroad track, pumps, impellers and valves and farm implements.  Our primary objective is to engineer a product that will last many times longer than the original part.  Postle's unique flux technology adds to the metallographic structure of the hard surfacing overlay and provides performance levels beyond that of ordinary hard surfacing products.

Repair Products - Where typical fabrication welding incorporates welding consumables designed for new metal or equipment, repair welding products are used for broken, failed or defective parts.  Therefore, Postle's product development philosophy is to provide products that are over engineered in order to compensate for the adverse conditions and difficulties normally associated with repair welding, such as unknown and generally over-stressed base metals, poor joint design, incomplete and untested welding procedure, etc.

Special Fabrication Products – Some of the equipment used by the industries that Postle supplies, such as mining, earth-moving and construction is frequently subjected to tremendous stress and abuse.  When fabricating this equipment, standard welding products sometimes do not offer enough in terms of physical properties (i.e. strength, elongation, crack resistance).  For these special fabrications, the products that Postle supplies for repair applications, are ideal for fabrications involving high strength and crack sensitive steels, cast irons and other difficult to weld metals.

MetalTec Wear Resistant Coatings - MetalTec Repair Compounds are used by the same industries that use hard surfacing alloys.  However, their applications are different.  Where welding is a fusion process, created by the melting of filler and base metal, epoxies are adhesive.  They are applied cold, without the use of heat and are widely used for applications where welding is considered impractical or  where the heat from welding cannot be tolerated.   As a preventive wear resistant coating these products are applied to a new or exist ing part before it is put into service.  MetalTec coatings will significantly improve performance by extending equipment life beyond normal expectations.  As an "on-going" maintenance repair tool, machinery can be brought back to full operating efficiency at a fraction of the cost of replacement parts.  Examples include coating parts exposed to abrasion, erosion and corrosion such as pumps, impellers and pipe elbows, restoring surfaces that must be rebuilt and machined such as a shaft, bearing housing, or keyway, or sealing leaks in a tank and pipelines
