Drilling is tough on equipment.  Excessive wear costs money.  Downtime can stifle production. We understand these problems of a Drilling Contractor at Postle Industries....and that is exactly why we developed Postalloy® 2832SPL and Postalloy® 2820 .  Drilling applications require weld deposits that are alloyed to resist abrasive wear yet balanced to yield maximum impact resistance for those occasions where rock is encountered.  This means longer component life, less wear and reduced downtime.  Postalloy® 2832SPL and Postalloy® 2820 are Iron Base Chromium Carbide wires that come in a variety of sizes ranging from .045" to 7/64" diameter and can be run with or without a shielding gas.  .045" and 1/16" diameters are the most popular, allowing for out-of-position flexibility and control.  Great for running with a stick electrode power supply with a proper wire feeder.  These wires are slag free with very little spatter, making cleanup easy and efficient.  The check cracking feature reduces built in stresses and helps prevent premature failure.  Postalloy® 2820 deposits are tougher but not quite as wear resistant as Postalloy® 2832 deposits.  The choice between these two wires depends upon the amount of impact anticipated during service.  For rocky soil Postalloy® 2820 is the best choice while Postalloy® 2832 is best in sandy soils where there is little impact.
